April 9, 2014 By King Relocation
On Tuesday, April 22, more than one billion people across 190 countries are expected to participate in Earth Day 2014.
Now in its 44th year, Earth Day is designed to engage communities around the globe in addressing the unique environmental challenges we face. Many will choose to plant trees, clean up their local communities, or urge elected officials to put forth legislation that will protect our environment.
At King Relocation Services, we celebrate Earth Day year round through our commitment to conserving precious natural resources, and protecting air quality. One of the ways we do this is by complying with the air quality guidelines for carriers and shippers, set by the California Air Resources Board, or CARB.
Founded in 1968, the mission of CARB is to “promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants, while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the state.”
CARB’s primary goals include:
– Providing safe, clean air to all Californians
– Protecting the public from exposure to toxic air contaminants
– Reducing California’s emission of greenhouse gases
– Providing leadership in implementing and enforcing air pollution control rules and regulations
– Providing innovative approaches for complying with air pollution rules and regulations
– Basing decisions on best possible scientific and economic information
For King Relocation Services’ customers, CARB means that every move we make is done with the preservation of our environment in mind. For example, we have made the required investments to ensure that all of our moving trucks are CARB compliant.
Additionally, we will only engage with CARB-compliant trucks for domestic and international goods relocations, which means that we are able to meet United Van Lines’ requirements which specify all interstate moves must be made by CARB-compliant trucks.
Not all relocation companies can boast such a high level of CARB compliance, or commitment to the environment.
So, whether you are responsible for handling the relocation of your corporate employees, planning an upcoming office move, or looking for a resource for household goods relocation, we hope that you will think of King Companies as your “eco-friendly” relocation resource.
